Ms. Sawa Muraji (村治サワ) of Ōtsu City, Shiga Prefecture, celebrated her 111th birthday.
She was born on March 5, 1915 in Gunma Prefecture. On January 2025, following the death of Ms. Fumi Nakamura of Yasu City at age 110, Ms. Muraji became the oldest living person in Shiga Prefecture.
At 111 years old, she remains capable of walking independently without any walking aids.

Crescencia Galán Medina was born in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha, on 10 October 1914. On 12 July 2024, following the passing of Dolores Buitrago Ruiz, she became the oldest known living person in Castilla–La Mancha.

Erfurt's oldest resident has died. The Augusta-Viktoria-Stift announced that architect Käthe Menzel-Jordan passed away on March 1st at the venerable age of 109 years and 5 months. She was an honorary citizen of the state capital Erfurt and, as a building expert, left numerous traces in the old town.

Born in Erfurt as the daughter of a building contractor She was born on 7 September, into the family of a prominent Erfurt building contractor. She studied architecture in Dresden and survived the bombing of the city during World War II because she happened to be outside the city limits. Her dissertation was destroyed in the attack. Afterward, she dedicated herself to emergency stabilization work in Weimar, where, among other things, she secured Goethe's house on orders. She furthered her knowledge through additional studies in Dresden. Redesign of the Augustinian Monastery As a freelance architect with consistently excellent connections to the construction workers, she redesigned, among other things, the Augustinian Monastery in Erfurt, numerous houses on the Krämerbrücke (Merchants' Bridge), the Hohe Lilie (High Lily) on Cathedral Square, Molsdorf Castle, and the Predigerkirche (Preacher's Church) and St. Michael's Church.

At the time of her death, she was the 9th known OLP in Germany.

Ms. Pilar Vazquez was born on 19 February 1916 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, as one of fifteen children born to Pedro López and Encarnación Serrano. Thirteen of those children survived into adulthood.

In 1944, she left Puerto Rico for New York City and began a new life chapter marked by determination, hard work, and hope. In time, she married Tomás Vazquez, and together they raised three sons: Thomas, Wilfredo, and José. Pilar instilled in them the same values of unity, love, and perseverance that had guided her since childhood.

Once her children were in school, Pilar entered the workforce and contributed her talents to several factories across New York. She helped manufacture lamps, umbrellas, and toys. Her steady work supported her family and reflected her unwavering commitment to providing for those she loved.

She took great pleasure in puzzles, word searches, and Bingo —pursuits that kept her mind keen and her spirit buoyant.

When asked about the secret to her long life, Pilar said: “Take care of yourself. Make sure you stay healthy, walk every day, and do not smoke or drink.” When asked about an advice for the younger generations, she shared a message that reflected the heart of her life’s philosophy: “Make sure you love yourself and your family. Family comes first above all.”

At the time of her 110th birthday, she was the matriarch of a large family, comprising seven grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, with two additional great-great-grandchildren on the way.

She currently lives in Manhattan, New York, United States.
