6. Eileen Kramer (Sydney, New South Wales) (b. 8 November 1914), 109 y.o.

Is Eileen Kramer the most famous for reasons other than the longevity of Oceania's history? Or were there other names that reached further?

The oldest 'reliably validated' New Zealand born person, is Mrs Madeline Anderson who reached the age of 111-46.

As of today (18 Oct) Mrs Aileen Kars has reached the age of 111-36.

On a per capita basis New Zealand has just over 5 million people and Australia has 27 million.

So in a list of NZ and Australian candidates we should expect NZ to contribute nearly 20%, or the 2 out of 10 currently achieved.

Oceania actually comprises 14 countries plus a further 9, which are dependencies of other countries. Papua New Guinea is the second largest at over 10 million. Living standards suggest PNG’s first super centenarian may still be some way off.

Otherwise Fiji and the Solomon Islands get close to 1 million each, but the rest are very small.

I believe only NZ and Aus have ever contributed to the Oceania top 10 so far.
