The Mayor of Kirkovo Municipality, Mr. Shinasi Suleiman, visited 109-year-old grandmother Esma Mustafa from the village of Podkova – the oldest person in Bulgaria.

Born in 1917, grandmother Esma is a true example of dignity, vitality and wisdom accumulated over more than a century of life. She is a mother of 6 children, has 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, who are her greatest wealth and joy.

During the meeting, the Mayor Mr. Shinasi Suleiman expressed his respect and gratitude to grandmother Esma, wishing her health, peace and many more years spent among her loved ones.

109 years of life are 109 years of history – memories, work, love and countless life lessons. Such people are the living memory of our villages and communities and deserve our attention, respect and gratitude.

Kirkovo Municipality wishes Grandma Esma Mustafa good health, a cheerful spirit and lots of love from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren!

Any news on who is the oldest person in Bulgaria at the moment?

OLP since 12 Jan 2023 is Unidentified (b. Q2 1915) unknown if male or female (probably female), and also OLM since 3 Jan 2023 is Unknown.

This newspaper report after Nurie Dermendzieva's death confirms that OLP was 108 years old (probably 107 and born in 1915).
