Fikrije Loki, the oldest known living person in North Macedonia turned 109 years today on 10 January 2023.
(Fikrije Loki holds an ID card)
She was born in the village of Bičevac, municipality of Kačanik, Kingdom of Serbia, present-day Kosovo on 10 January 1914 as the penultimate child in an Albanian ethnic family from father Zylbehar Banjaku and mother Nurije Banjaku. Fikrije had three brothers and seven sisters. She married Nesim Loki from the neighboring village of Kotline, Kačanik, Kosovo in the early 1950s. In 1955, together with her family, she moved to the city of Tetovo in Macedonia. She had three children, and she gave birth to the youngest child at the age of 49 in 1963, the same year her husband Nesim Loki died. Two her children were born before 1955 in Kosovo, and her youngest son Raim, with whom she lives today, was born in Tetovo, Macedonia.
Fikrije Loki currently lives in Tetovo as the second oldest known person who ever lived in North Macedonia, after Zaide Hasani Sali (17.05.1902-24.12.2011) who died at the age of 109 years, 221 days.
Her 109th birthday was confirmed to me yesterday by her grandson Nesim Loki via Facebook in a private message.
