The 2nd-oldest documented living person (quite possibly the 4th) in Venezuela, Mrs. Isabel Alvarado Lopez who lives in Caracas City, has turned 111 years-old. 

She was born on 9 August 1911. Happy 111th birthday!

Isabel Alvarado was born in the village of San Nicolás because her father was a rancher and his lands were outside the city of Guanare. She is the eldest of 7 siblings, all deceased except her. She lost her mother when she was 3 or 4 years old and her father remarried, from that union 5 children were born. She is from the first marriage. Her youth was spent in the city of Guanare, where she narrates there were evenings where she sang to herself and recited poetry. She was related to very distinguished families in that city, the Balda, the Unda, the Zúñiga, the Heredia Ángulo families. She worked as a teacher until she met her first husband and she moved to Caracas where her only daughter was born. 
She worked in the Ministry of Public Works, in charge of the pharmacy at the Santa Ana Clinic, the Agricultural and Livestock Bank, and lastly, the Ministry of Communications, today called Infrastructure, until her retirement. She has lived with her only daughter for almost 50 years. For many years she has been eating papaya daily and chicken, fish and vegetables. She is not hypertensive or diabetic, she suffers from osteoarthritis and is currently blind and deaf. She arrived in Caracas when she was 28 or 29 years old, her husband died in 1953, his name was Rafael Bordón they were already separated when he died. Her only daughter was born in 1941 (and is still alive).
