Ethel May Caterham - of Ash Vale, Surrey, England, celebrated her 114th birthday today! She was born on 21 August 1909 in Shipton Bellinger, Hampshire and is the oldest living person in the UK.ย
She is the first known person to celebrate a 114th birthday in the UK since Ethel Lang over 9 years ago.ย

I'm curious, why does she look angry in the photos?

Of course, she's not the first supercentenarian with that angry expression.

Could it be that she feels uncomfortable because of the visits or is she just like that?

For some reason the time for all of the posts on this forum show up in UK time which is not where I live

Her hands seem to have some dark spots on them which then grow into her whole wrists being that darker colour. Does anyone know if this is a normal thing for older people or a health problem we should be worried about?

@mrcatlord I don't think it's serious. Many old people develop dark spots in hands and arms, just like her. And she looks great for being 114.
