She was born as Marie-Rose Bousseau in a farm in Beaurepaire, Vendee, Pays de la Loire, France on 21 May 1910.
She has been the oldest known living person in France since the death of Sister André on 17 January 2023.
Following the death of Ms. Jousseaume on 20 December 2020, she became the oldest known living person in Vendee department. She became the oldest known living person in the region of Pays de la Loire, following the death of Ms. Berthelot on 17 January 2021.
