Russia is a huge country, but with few validated and known supercentenarians. Why is it so difficult to find reliable documentation in that country?
Does the very cold climate there also favor the existence of few supercentenarians?

Personally, I think that there is a lot of potential in validating Russian SC cases, though there might be an extraordinarily massive female advantage there. Possibly much bigger than anywhere else because Russian (and other East Slavic) men suffered severely as a result of both Nazism and Communism and thus a lot of them lost their lives prematurely, either as a result of purges, war, or chronic alcoholism.
