Ms. Hilda Luck of Rainham, Kent, England (UK) celebrated her 112th birthday.

She was born on 19 February 1914.

She is the 4th known OLP in the UK.

LongeviQuest is pleased to confirm that Hilda Luck, the fourth-oldest person in the UK, celebrated her 112th birthday on 19 February in Rainham, Kent.

Mrs Luck, who still lives independently in the home she bought with her late husband in the 1940s, marked the occasion with a small family party attended by relatives, including her son Ronnie, 81. During the celebration, she was presented with a royal birthday card from King Charles III.

She was also visited by the local Mayor, who said: “It was great to sit and chat with Hilda and her family, and hear about how life has changed in Medway over the decades and of her adventures. What a privilege to meet Hilda – On behalf of Medway, I wish Hilda a very, very happy and blessed birthday.”

Mrs Luck was born in Gillingham, Kent on 19 February 1914, shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. During the war, she moved with her family to Scotland. At the age of 15, she entered domestic service, and during the Second World War she worked as one of the first female gas welders at Historic Dockyard Chatham. It was there that she met her husband, Ron.

The couple married soon afterwards and bought a house in Rainham, where Mrs Luck has continued to live following her husband’s death in 1998.

Now aged 112, Mrs Luck remains sprightly and enjoys keeping her mind active through reading and word searches. She attributes her longevity to never drinking alcohol or smoking, her love of chocolate, and staying active.
