Worcestershire left the list after the death of Ronald Frederick Naylor on 11 July 2023, and is returning now, Merseyside always only had Tinniswood as a representative and with his death it left the list, Tinnsiwood was in the lead since the first publication of the list here, Donald Rose was 6th on 17 Jun 2022 and now leads

Since the death of John Tinniswood, on 25 Nov 2024, there has not been a male supercentenarian in the United Kingdom, and now there is again

Kind of late asking this, but does anyone here know what Norman Spencer's cause of death was just three days after his 110th birthday? He was one of the few SCs who was notable for something other than his extreme longevity.

I wouldn't be surprised if he will become the next British man to reach age 112+, though obviously it's way too early for this right now.

Scotland once again has just one member here, as in the list of 3 July 2024
On that list there were also 9 Englishmen, as today
Dulgall entered the list on 14 Aug 2024

RIP

The Anonymous man in ninth was William Lynch of Edinburgh. Unfortunately, he passed away on 2 March.

John William Shannon was the 23rd oldest living man in Europe, the 67th oldest man in the history of Great Britain
William Lynch is the 12th oldest man in the history of Scotland
John William Shannon entered the list on 3 Jul 2024, as did North Yorkshire, which along with him, is no longer on the list
Scotland maintains 2 names on the list
London returns to the ranking, its last appearance had been on 2 Aug 2024, but when Norman Spencer died it left

I wonder just how much of a factor low British birth rates during WWI are in Britain's currently relatively weak performance in regards to this. You see a relatively significant fall in births in Britain during WWI based on the data here, after all:

I've done some digging, and found William Francis Lynch's baptism record. He was born on 15 September 1917 in Leyton, Essex (now London), England, and baptised 15 days later in Harrow Green, 2 miles (3.2 km) away. Therefore, his final age was 107 years, 168 days.

Thanks for researching this! I first discovered and researched his case in 2022 when he was 105 although I forgot to mention his birth date above, and had his birthplace listed as West Ham.

Following his death, the six oldest known living men in Scotland are:

  1. Hugh Kerr (b. 9 Oct 1915), 109, of Paisley, Renfrewshire
  2. Harry Richardson (b. 8 Feb 1918), 107, of Ochiltree, East Ayrshire (b. England)
  3. David Niel (b. 16 Dec 1919), 105, of Alexandria, West Dunbartonshire (b. England)
  4. Fred Whitson (b. 22 Feb 1920), 105, of Blairgowrie, Perth and Kinross
  5. Fred Walker (b. 5 May 1920), 104, of Camelon, Falkirk
  6. John Cruickshank (b. 20 May 1920), 104, of Aberdeen

I wouldn't discount the possibility of there being multiple unidentified men who would fit into this ranking, though.
