Ell and I have been researching a previously unknown British supercentenarian for the past couple months, and we've finally been able to identify her. For privacy reasons, I can't give her name, but she was born on 31 May 1913 and is thus one of the ten oldest known living people in the UK. 

I'm currently researching another potential British supercentenarian claim to 111 - trying to determine whether they might in fact be someone already known to us, as they are said to reside in a county bordering one where we've had a known 111-year-old recently. 

@robbie Do you know if Rosina Caulkett (b. 13 November 1913) is still alive? Her 110th birthday was yesterday but I have not seen a confirmation yet.

I'm currently researching another potential British supercentenarian claim to 111 - trying to determine whether they might in fact be someone already known to us, as they are said to reside in a county bordering one where we've had a known 111-year-old recently. 

I've received information confirming that this claim is not someone we knew of before. This woman (the individual was female) was actually 111 as of September 2022, so if still alive today she would be 112 or 113 (the death index has not been updated beyond March 2023 so we are not sure if she may have passed away since then or not). Thus, if her claim ends up being validatable she would be at least the fourth-oldest living person in the UK, though could be as old as being the second-oldest.

According to the oldest in Britain website, a woman named Margaret Cryer turned 110 last month (I have found no confirmation of her birthday or any reports on her ever)

There's also Siu Kiu Chau, whose age has a good chance of being true but it's hard to confirm with certainty as due to political circumstances it's incredibly difficult to acquire documents from Hong Kong. 

From Olive Boar to Mollie Walker, the UK had about 10 OLPs in a row die less than a year after gaining the title - this recent period of stability is certainly a welcome change.

A two year lead now for Ethel Caterham following the passing of Edna Strickland.

EC is become in a UK longevity treasure, rapidly closing in on a top 5 all time spot. (Health permitting).

Yesterday marked the two-year anniversary of Ethel Caterham becoming the oldest known living person in the UK, becoming the first person to achieve this milestone since Florrie Baldwin.

It's interesting to note that both Mary Keir and Marion Dawson, the oldest known living people in Wales and Scotland respectively, have also held their titles for over two years. 

I was worried when Merah Smith's 111th birthday occurred yet no photos were posted online at the time. Luckily, as this recently published photo shows, she was still in very good health as of her birthday (source):

Additionally, here's a recent photo of Mary Keir (only from behind), but it's good to see at nearly 112 she's still in good enough health to participate in care home activities (source):

Mary Walker has also been confirmed alive as of 17 January.

I don't think I've seen someone get this much media attention on the run-up to 110 in the UK since maybe Bob Weighton. But I reckon it's warranted - she is extremely sharp and enjoys talking about her life and hobbies, which include embroidery, making sketches, and writing poetry. She wrote this piece to commemorate the passing of the Queen (source):

She's also one of the few people to relocate a fair distance at an extreme age - from Sidmouth, Devon to Formby, Merseyside in 2020 which is about 240 miles. She appeared on BBC North West last week so I recorded and uploaded it for preservation purposes(honestly, the amount of media footage that is shown once and then rots away in a dank warehouse somewhere is staggering):

I think Eileen Ash (the ex international cricketer) may have got a reasonable amount of publicity in late 2021, when she reached 110.

However she passed away only a month or so later, so sadly, perhaps both events combined to some extent, in that regard.
