<p>Interestingly, the oldest man in Costa Rica is Bernabe Cordoba Cordoba, born on June 11, 1915, meaning he has the same name and was born on the same day as Bernabe Serrano Chavez.</p>
<br /><br />Their shared name isn't actually a coincidence - they're both named after Saint Barnabas, as they were born on his Feast Day (June 11th). It's quite unusual for a woman to be named Bernabé, though.

<p>She was born in San Agustín, Usulután Department, El Salvador, on 11 June 1915 (claims 6 September 1914).</p>

<p>As of May 2024, her oldest living child was 90, and her youngest child was 70. She attributed her long life to eating beans and herbs. At the time, she was healthy, spoke well, and did not take any medications. Her younger brother, Florencio, was 101 years old at the time.</p>

<p>Sonsonate, Sonsonate Department<span> — Josefa Rodríguez Chanta, who was possibly the oldest living resident of El Salvador, passed away on November 4, at the claimed age of 111 years, 230 days.</span></p>
<p><span>Known locally as Niña Fita, she claimed to have been </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/PrensaPlumaLibre/posts/pfbid0DbXsGFFK4GrqToFZWZJ2mpgYc5MPnZi5VgTNsiBRnWAjAeHrkBo9x6h6JXZtBo4Nl" rel="nofollow">born in Zacatecoluca</a><span>, La Paz Department, on 19 March 1913. As a young woman and later as an adult, she worked in commerce, running a fruit shop on a street in Sonsonate—a city she settled in about 50 years ago. She dedicated herself to raising </span><a href="https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid02LNUD8DtFu7EBSSxm1chtLKM1yAaqdheUmteQGUAxYhB8AhSjZ16CHwwAs4SNxjRpl&amp;id=102660754489407" rel="nofollow">her only son</a><span>, Jesús Alberto Rodríguez, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a deep faith in God through the teachings of the Catholic Church. The Rodríguez family is well-known in Sonsonate and is deeply devoted to their Catholic faith.</span></p>
