You had mentioned him in another post, the one talking about Masa Matsumoto. Of course, what we feared is in fact the reality. RIP Mr Ikeda

Is the lady in that photo Masa Matsumoto or someone else?

In hindsight, it turns out that the people who posted his interview on 1 September might not have known he had died by then...

I'm beginning to wonder if she is Mrs Matsumoto; the caption says that the mayor is photographed with the oldest persons in Yokohama - so not Mrs Matsumoto per se.

There is new picture of Mrs. Matsumoto that I posted in her thread. She is wearing different clothes, I think it’s a different person in that other photo

I do feel the picture you posted is most definitely her, yes.

Kanagawa prefecture reports that its oldest living citizen is 113 years old. This is obviously Masa Matsumoto (松本まさ) of Yokohama, born on 29 November 1909. In addition, there are 2 112-year-old women (both from Yokohama), two 111-year-old women, two 110-year-old women, and one 110-year-old man (identity unknown), who is the oldest living man in the prefecture. He lives in Yokosuka.

Looking back at last year's data (the second table in the source below), the 2022 thread identifies ALL supercentenarians from Kanagawa prefecture who were 110+ in September 2022. Wow!

Akita prefecture reports that its oldest living citizen is 112-year-old Yūko Satō (佐藤祐子) of Akita City, born on 29 September 1910. The oldest living man is 107-year-old Hidenosuke Fujieda (藤枝秀之助) of Semboku, born on 7 February 1916.

As the statistics only show one 112-year-old in Akita prefecture, this means that Mrs Hana Satō (佐藤ハナ) of Akita City, born on 1 May 1911, has unfortunately entered limbo. She was last confirmed alive on her 112th birthday.

Next to Yūko Satō, there is one other supercentenarian in the prefecture. This 110-year-old woman either lives in Akita City, or in Ōdate.

Last year there were:

Not Available, M 109, 1913.04.01 - 1913.09.15 (lives in Yokohama)
-. Not Available, M 109, 1913.04.02 - 1913.09.15 (lives in Yokosuka)

So the 1st man from Yokohama became a limbo case?

Chiba prefecture reports that its oldest living person is 112-year-old Hiro Matsumoto (松本ひろ) of Funabashi, born on 9 September 1911. (But as the report took data from 1 September 2023, strictly speaking she was 111 at the time.) The oldest living man in the prefecture (and in the country) is 111-year-old Gisaburō Sonobe (薗部儀三郎) of Tateyama, born on 6 November 1911.

In addition to this oldest pair, there are two 111-year-old women: Yuki Ōkawa (大川ユキ) of Nagareyama, born on 11 July 1912, and a woman from Matsudo, most likely born on 1 September 1912. There are also five 110-year-olds, among whom Nao Itō (伊藤ナヲ) of Kamagaya, born on 10 December 1912.
