Antonia Paliaga (20.07.1913 - 12.03.2022) Was a Croatian-born Italian centenarian who is one of the oldest known survivors of COVID-19, having recovered from the disease at the age of 107. She was a also is the oldest known living person in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Biography
Paliaga was born in Rovinj, Istria County, Croatia on 20 July 1913.
On 2 January 2021, Paliaga was hospitalised after contracting COVID-19. After spending 47 days in hospital, she was discharged on 18 February 2021. At the age of 107, she is one of the oldest known survivors of the disease.
Following the death of 109-year-old Giulia Elena Gosparini on 30 January 2022, she became the oldest known living person in Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
She died on 12 March 2022, in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, at the age of 108 years, 235 days.
RIP Mrs. Paliaga. We will have to wait more for a Croatian-Italian supercentenarian.
