Ms. Sofie Scheibe née Jahr - of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany - very sadly passed away on 15 October 2024, aged 109 years and 252 days.

She was born on 6 February 1915 in Köln, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany into a merchant family.

@diego The last 6 months have been so tragic for German's oldest - the top 10 has seen itself replaced so many times. The only solace in my mind is that I believe that many German supercentenarians go unreported.

@musicotic Have you ever seen anything like this? So many deaths in the top 10 of a country? I know that many deaths can occur even at this age, but I am very surprised by this number of deaths in the German top 10.
