Dr. Samuel Bender sadly passed away on 8 July 2025, at Laurelmead in Providence, Rhode Island (USA), aged 109.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY (USA) on 10 March 1916.
He had lived in Providence for more than 10 years, but lived in Yonkers, New York for much of his life. Dr. Bender, aptly called the Centenarian Veterinarian, was the owner and head veterinarian for the Bender Animal Hospital on Riverside in Bronx, NY and retired over 50 years ago.
He was the 10th known OLM in the USA.
