Stanislaw Kowalski sadly passed away on April 5, 2022. This has been reported on the 110 Club.
Rest in peace, Stanislaw Kowalski. 😭

Very sad. He was exactly ninety years older than me, down to the day.
Rest in peace Stanislaw!

Whether the cause of death is known.
It is devastating news... Mr. Kowalski was born on April 14. On his 101st birthday my adored SC Walter Breuning died.
I will never forget them both.
RIP
PS Maybe his heart was broken after the recent death of his daughter and he died in his sleep like my greatgrandmother (90+) after the unexpected death of her favorite sister...
Rest in peace StanisΕaw, it's very sad that he had to endure the loss of his daughter so soon before his passing.

Rest in peace. Even my dad (who isn't even interested in centenarians) wanted him to reach 112.
R.I.P. Stanislaw Kowalski. Iβm glad that so far, more and more men from Eastern Europe become/became the doyen of Europe.Β
This is probably the most sorrowful supercentenarian death for me in 2022... StanisΕaw was very, very dear to my heart, for numerous reasons. He became the oldest competitor in athletics, the sport I love so much. He became the first verified man to reach 110 in Poland, a country I admire a lot. His outstanding fitness and immaculate appearance made it clear he was a supercentenarian one of its kind. A true gentleman.
Rarely do I have reasonable hopes for a male to reach 114, i.e. their respective validated top 10 ever. With StanisΕaw, this was the case. And who knows what would have happened, if her daughter hadn't died a week prior to him.
Rest in peace, StanisΕaw Kowalski, Doyen of Poland, Doyen of Europe, Doyen of Athletes. You will be missed.🖤

@024tomi I ABSOLUTELY agree! I'm glad you posted it; I would have said about the same things, and not as nicely as you did. I have followed Kowalski for 7 years, far before he turned supercentenarian. (Due to his athletic performance.) I always had high hopes he would be the first M110-competitor on the 100 m. That sadly didn't turn out to be so. But given such vitality at that age, I agree, 114 would not have been unthinkable for him. Far from it. (Given the recent trend of taking away silver medals, perhaps 115! ;))
He seemed like a very nice man, and he will be sorely missed. R.I.P. StanisΕaw.
@stoa-oid I did not knew that his daughter passed away soon before his death....
Maybe this event has impacted his will to live.. πΒ
Kowalski is already surpassed by Mikizo Ueda (who I believe is likely to be validated), but I doubt if he's in better shape to create an M110 100 m dash record π
And it's on the same the the previous WOM is surpassed, too. Juan surpasses Saturnino today.
