I cannot believe I am writing this right now, but
Mrs. Fusa Tatsumi (née Taniura) on 25 April 1907 in Yao, Osaka, Japan. She passed away at 9:25 AM on 12 December 2023 at the age of 116 years and 231 days
Is it serious? From what I see there is only one source

I have searched and there is no more information about her death...
And I find it strange that it hasn't been announced here until now.
Kane Tanaka (1903-2022) my favorite supercentenarian of all time.
@adancho a thread was made on the 110 club within the last hour. Unless this is a cruel internet hoax, it seems the worst has come true. This is a very, very, sad day

Very sad news; she had been frail for years, but I still had hope she would have reached 117 years of age.
Rest in peace, Mrs. Tatsumi, former vice-doyenne of the world.

First supercentenarian I learned about: Kane Tanaka (1903-2022)
R.I.P. Mrs. Tatsumi, exceed more than half the age of 116 is not a joke at all... I will always remember you with that Pikachu plush which is an important icon for Japan too!
Now you passed the national title to Mrs. Itooka and the Vice-Doyenne title to Mrs. Ceccarelli. Congrats also to these two ladies.
Mrs. Tatsumi was an amazing individual who continued to exceed our expectations. She has earned her rest well, having become the 5th oldest person ever to live in Japan
Farewell, Tatsumi-san
Rest in peace to the doyenne of Japan and vice-doyenne of the World.
She was the 17th oldest person ever validated, there is a pending validation above her still
RIP
Yes …. Francisca is pending for the GRG at that age.
Mrs Tatsumi will also just above the pending case of Anisio Alves at 116-229, should he be validated at that exact age.

Regarding Nabi Tajima, whose age is still in dispute, is there any news?

RIPWho is the pending person above her?
According to the GRG,Francisca Simão (Brazil) born on 9 Jan 1901 and died on 8 Oct 2017 at 116 years, 272 days
She's likely a false case, though.
