Rest in Peace Mrs Mackenbach.
It’s pleasing to see you’ll be remembered as a validated supercentenarian, based on the events of the last few days.

Not quite. I sent the birth certificate to Gert Jan (although I am quite sure JimJim has also found the birth cert independently), but we cannot find any mid-life evidence. Ms Mackenbach wasn't married, and the municipality of Rotterdam hasn't put any Persoonskaarten (another type of mid-life evidence that we can use for her) online for that period because of privacy concerns. (My grandmother, for instance, was also living in Rotterdam at the time and still alive.)
However, in 2025 we can contact the CBG (a national genealogy institute) and we can request more documentation. Let's hope that will be sufficient by then.
For now, rest in peace, Ms Mackenbach. 111 remains a difficult barrier for Dutch supercentenarians to cross.
Overduidelijk misschien.
She was also the oldest known living person from the Benelux
With this Marina van der Es-Siewers born in Van Ewijcksluis, North Holland, born on 4 March 1913 and living in Hippolytushoef, North Holland becomes the oldest living person in the Netherlands and the Benelux
She was the 31st oldest in the history of Benelux, and 14th in the history of the Netherlands
RIP
RIP Ms. Mackenbach
That means SCs named Helena and Helene have both died within a week of each other, similar to Bertha Gutierrez and Berthe Levaillant who died in the first ten days of last month, and Bertha Shifflet also dying a few days later
In a tweet (on X), Paul Verspeek (the author of the article), answered to a question by our dear old friend BV that her date of death was 3 December.

@marco This is not an obituary, but a 'made up' one, based on the original article in which her death was announced.

I suppose the original was in the Rotterdams Dagblad? In any case, happy to see the date of her death has been cleared up, even though it was even a little earlier than previously thought.
