Rest in peace, Mrs. Charlotte Kretschmann.
This is truly shocking and saddening news, as despite her great age, Mrs. Kretschmann was one of the healthiest and strongest 114-year olds I have ever seen and it seemed to many that she would live for years to come, but we must take comfort in the fact that she remained strong and healthy until the end and passed away peacefully. My condolences to her family, friends and all those who knew and loved her.
Interested in supercentenarians since 2017.
Favourite supercentenarian: Kane Tanaka (1903-2022)
Favourite living supercentenarian: Juan Vicente Perez Mora (born 1909)
Terrible news... but we can be thankful for Charlotte for all the joy she brought with her outstanding milestones and active lifestyle at an extreme age. The first 114-year-old woman in Germany – she'll be missed.
Rest in peace, Charlotte Kretschmann.🖤

Mrs Kretschmann was all of the positive things listed above and also had a wonderful attitude to life in general.

Ruhe in Frieden, liebe Frau Kretschmann. 😔
Interested in supercentenarians since 27 July 2018.
First supercentenarian I learned about: Kane Tanaka (1903-2022)
This news really surprised me.
When I saw the photo of her visiting a chocolate factory I noticed that she looked more fragile, but I thought it was normal for her age, I didn't expect her to die so soon, I honestly thought she could reach 116, I'm surprised she hasn't reached at 115 and that she has not even reached the final age of JVPM, I console myself with the fact that she died in her sleep and without suffering and that she reached 114 years and 268 days, that she was the oldest person in Germany ever and that she always remained strong with a smile, I will miss her.
Rest in peace Charlotte Kretschmann 🕊
She is the 21st oldest person in European history, the oldest person in German history, she spent 1 year and 344 days as the oldest person in Germany, the longest time since Josefine Ollmann who spent between 18 July 2020 and 16 July 2022 (1 yr, 363 days), if Gustav Gerneth is not validated, who died on 21 October 2019 at the age of 114 years and 6 days, Josefine would be the 2nd oldest person in German history, 113 years, 247 days, she is the 5th person from Baden-Wuerttemberg to be considered the oldest in Germany, the first since Herta Oeser who died on 13 March 2016, she is the 2nd oldest Polish emigrant in history, the oldest Polish emigrant is now Rose Girone born on 13 January 1912 in Janów, Czestochowa, Silesian Voivodeship, Russian Empire (now Poland) and living in Whitestone, Queens, New York, USA, She is the 95th oldest person in history
RIP
Rest in peace. She seemed to be very good, but let's not forget that she was 114 years and 8 months... Old people can die suddenly or keep going for years in a very frail state. I prefer the first option. There are people in their 80s or 90s (or even at younger ages) who are well and die unexpectedly. All SCs are in risk of passing anytime, let's not forget that their age is exceptional.
Charlotte had a long and healthy life. She was able to be at restaurants and going outside until 114. Few SCs can do that.
Rest in Peace, Charlotte... even with such a long life, I did not think she would be gone so soon
I can't believe we've had four top ten/114+ deaths in less than three weeks, and five in the last two months
And then for Germany, we also lost Brosig and Rau in July, leaving 1913 with the new oldest person in Germany
Ms. Martha Henze (Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia) (b. Nov/Dec 1912) could be alive as of today....
