Mary Payne Franklin - of Centreville, Maryland, USA - sadly passed away on 12 September 2024 at the age of 111 years, 222 days.

She was born on 3 February 1913.

She was the 23rd oldest known living person in the US, the 2nd oldest living person born in Virginia, the oldest living person in Maryland is now (correct me if I'm wrong) Dorothy Mimms born on July 5, 1913 (in Tennessee), and the 29th oldest living person in the US. Interestingly, she died at the same age as Ai Shinohara, whose death was discovered on the same day (JAP, 1913-2024), the 7th oldest validated person to die in Maryland history.

RIP Mrs. Franklin. A couple months ago there was an article where she said she wanted to live to 150, looks like she didn't quite make that goal
