LongeviQuest reports the death of Mrs Masae Asaishi (浅石まさ江) of Hachinohe, Aomori, Japan on 31 December 2024 at the age of 111 years and 144 days. She was born in the same city on 9 August 1913.
May she rest in peace.
Asaishi passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 111 years and 144 days. At the time of her death, she was the oldest living person in Aomori Prefecture.

She was the oldest person alive in Aomori, the 6th oldest in the state's history.

She was the oldest person in Aomori for 213 days, the shortest time since Sue Ogasawara, who was from May 25, 2019 to November 13, 2019 (172 days) and the youngest to die in that position since Suekichi Ogasawara, who died at 109 years, 278 days on April 14, 2021. She is the 6th person from Hachinohe to be considered the oldest in Aomori, the last was the aforementioned Sue Ogasawara.
