Ms. Mitsuno Sawada of Matsue City, Shimane (JPN) sadly passed away on 18 August 2024 at the age of 112 years old.
She was born was born in Yasugi, Shimane Prefecture, Japan on 1 January 1912.
On 21 June 2021, following the death of 110-year-old Fumi Fujiwara, she became the oldest living person in Shimane Prefecture.
Rest in peace, Sawada-san.

She is the oldest person born in 1912, because she was born on the first day of the year, she was the 18th oldest living person in the world, the oldest living person in Shimane, 4th in the history of there, does anyone know who is the oldest person in Shimane now? She was the oldest in this region for 1 year, 315 days, the longest time since Sakae Fujii, who was between fl.21 Nov 2017 and 15 June 2021 (<3 yrs, 206 days), since Kitsuyo Yamamoto who died at 112 years, 362 days on 9 Mar 2015 there was no one so old in Shimane, she was the 3rd person living in Matsue to be considered the oldest in Shimane, the first since Anonymous who died on fl.21 Nov 2017
157th oldest person of all time in Japan, 623rd validated oldest person in history, she died at the same age as Orpha Nusbaum (USA, 1875-1988) and Richard Overton (USA, 1906-2018)
