It looks like Berthe Courtemanche was actually the Oldest Living Person in Canada for two months https://www.magnuspoirier.com/en/obituaries/141511/berthe-courtemanche

I guess this COULD not be true now, as Jessie Wong (15 Sept 1913 - 19 Jan 2026) might have been older, however, considering she was born in China and later moved to Canada, it could be more difficult to document/validate her case.

She is the 59th oldest person in Canadian history.
Her successor as Canada's oldest person is Burdett Sisler (b. 14 Apr 1915) and is the 116th oldest person in the country's history.
She was Canada's oldest person since 25 Oct 2025 (67 days), the shortest time since Doris Lilian Cornell (59 days between 13 Nov 2015-11 Jan 2016).
She died at 111 years, 234 days, the youngest in the position since Doris Lilian Cornell (111 years, 143 days).
She is the 10th person from Quebec to be considered the oldest living person in Canada (2nd consecutive).

Berthe Courtemanche, the oldest known living person in Canada, passed away on 31 December 2025, at the age of 111 years, 234 days. She spent her last days at the nursing home in the neighbourhood of Pointe-aux-Trembles in Montreal.

Berthe Courtemanche was born on 11 May 1914. She married Pierre Verdone.

On 25 October 2025, following the passing of Margaret Romans, she became the Oldest Known Living Person in Canada.

She was born on 11 May 1914.

She sadly passed away on 31 December 2025 in Pointe-Aux-Trembles, Montreal, Quebec (CAN).
