Ms. Kiyo Itō (伊藤キヨ) of Kushiro City, Hokkaido (JPN) sadly passed away on 24 July 2025, at the age of 113 years and 258 days.
She was born in Akkeshi, Hokkaido pr., Japan on 8 November 1911.
Following Tane Matsubara’s passing on 16 January 2024, she became the oldest living person in Hokkaido Prefecture.
She was the third-oldest living person in Japan, behind Ms. Hiroyasu and Ms. Kagawa.

She was the oldest person in Hokkaido for 1 year, 189 days, the shortest time since Misao Yamashita, who lived from June 20, 2019, to September 20, 2019, at 73+ days. She died at 113 years, 258 days, younger than her predecessor, but older than the previous one, Take Taniguchi, who died in December 2021 at 112 years, 299+ days. She was the second known person from Kushiro to be considered the oldest in Hokkaido, the previous one being Kane Kagaya, who died on October 12, 2007. Her successor as the oldest person in Hokkaido is Michi Kudo, born on February 9, 1914.
