She lived in Schrems, Lower Austria.

What a strong woman she was. She came so close to the Austrian record of Luise Pompe, which we thought wouldn't be matched for a long time. Margarete was also one of the last Austro-Hungarian citizens to have memories about the monarchy and WWI.

She is the oldest person born in 1911 to die so far. She is the 262nd oldest person in history. 54th oldest person in European history, 2nd oldest person in Austrian history. She was the oldest person in Austria since 11 Nov 2022 (2 years, 81 days), younger than her predecessor Luise Pompe who spent 3 years, 49 days in the position and died younger than her predecessor who also died at 114 years, 29 days and is the oldest person in Austrian history. She is the 6th person from Lower Austria to be considered the oldest in the country, the last person from this region was Anna Medwenitsch, who died on 1 Apr 2018. 3rd oldest person born in Austria Hungary. She was the 6th oldest living person in Europe, 14th oldest living person in the world.
