Rosina  Maud Caulkett passed away on 31 Jan 2025, she was considered the 4th oldest person in the UK to this day, and the 2nd oldest living person in Surrey, only behind Ethel Carteham

I saw this too Billy, which led me to believe was in addition to the full name the location of her last residence Oakcroft House Care Home, Oakcroft Road, which is the same place where she lived, according to this article from 2020

Ok sorry, I beg your pardon. Im just realising that has her correct middle name as well as her correct surname and first name, so it appears to be the same person but how could she have gone unnoticed from the Oldest in Britain list if she died on 31 January.

RIP Rosina Caulkett.

I think it needs to be said again that Oldest in Britain isn't a "100% accurate live ranking of the oldest living people in the UK" - it's instead the best we can do with the resources available. Death indices in England and Wales are only published quarterly, usually about 4-5 months after the quarter in question has finished - so we don't have complete death data for Q1 2025 yet (in fact it was only in the last week or so that Q4 2024 became available). As such, if a death goes unreported we won't know about it until those indices are released.

Care homes in the UK also have the right to refuse to provide information about residents if they so choose - with increasingly strict privacy laws this is becoming more and more commonplace. This means there are some SCs for whom we aren't able to establish a contact who would notify us if they pass away - this is especially true in the case of Rosina Caulkett as she had no immediate family.

She was considered the 28th oldest living person in Europe, 83rd in the world, but as she died earlier the rankings were out of date. She died at the same age as

Florence Tabbert 25 Dec 1878 14 Mar 1990 USA

Bertha Lindemann 11 Mar 1891 29 May 2002 GER

Eleonora Losiewicz 24 Jan 1910 13 Apr 2021 POL

Margaret Reed 20 Apr 1910 8 July 2021 UK

She is the 114th oldest person in UK history.
