Ms. Tei Andō (安藤テイ) of Kanuma City, Tochigi Prefecture (JPN), sadly passed away on 5 May at the age of 111.
She was born on 17 March 1914.
She was reported as the oldest living person in Tochigi Prefecture as of September 2024.

She passed away on 5 May 2025, aged 111 years, 49 days.

She is the 402nd oldest person in Japanese history. The 4th oldest in Tochigi's history. Does anyone know who is the oldest person in Tochigi now? She was the oldest living person in Tochigi for 2 years and 74 days, the longest time since Tsukimi Kishi, who was the oldest person alive between October 12, 2015 and March 19, 2019 (3 years, 158 days). She died at the age of 111 years, 49 days. She was the oldest person in this position since Matsuno Muroi, who died on November 15, 2020 at the age of 111 years, 137 days. She was the first person from Kanuma to be the oldest person in Tochigi. She is the 5th oldest person born in 1914 to die so far. She was considered the 112th oldest person alive in the world, 35 in Japan.
