Ms. Rachele Paternò of Montecchio Maggiore, Vicenza, Veneto Region, Italy, sadly passed away on c. 10 January 2026, aged 110.
Family informed me today that she passed away few days ago.
We are waiting for the right death date.
She was born in Africo, Reggio Calabria, Calabria Region on 5th November 1915.

She sadly passed away on 11 January 2026, aged 110 years and 67 days.
Thanks to A.C. of the italian team who got the right death date.

- She was the oldest person in Veneto since August 31, 2025 (133 days), the shortest time since Severina Chiurato, who lived from January 21, 2023 to March 18, 2023 (56 days) and died at 110 years and 47 days. Rachel is the youngest to die in that position since then.
- She is the first person from Montecchio Maggiore to be considered the oldest in the region.
- She was the 97th oldest living European.
