09 - Asa Takii

Asa Takii was a survivor of the 1945 atomic bombing in Hiroshima. But I think she's a very underrated person.

Her information is scarce and many sources of her story are difficult to find on a Japanese web search.

It is truly amazing that she survived a large amount of radiation (the atomic bomb killed other her family) and lived to the age of 114.

Antonio Ardon Soto (for being one of the earliest LA males discovered so far and being relatively closely related to another SC)

Julio Cesar Mora Tapia (for taking a GWR title with his wife)

Flaviano Jubane (for being Filipino, one of the very few non-Japanese Asian male SCs documented so far)

• Gulli Bergendahl (1904-2015) - we spoke on the phone a couple of times
• Alice Östlund (1906-2018) - talked with her on the phone once
• Emma Morano (1899-2017) - met her in Italy in December 2015
• Jadwiga Szubartowicz (1905-2017) - met her in Poland on her 110th birthday. She made me eat like two tons of bigos so that I had to lay down on her couch from being so stuffed
