I hope that Mr. Le Coutour will reach age 111 this year! 🙂
As a side note, while the 1940 Fall of France was an extraordinary tragedy for French Jews, it might have unintentionally been a good thing for French extreme male longevity right now since a lot of (gentile) French men who would have otherwise been slaughtered in combat in WWII ended up having their lives spared due to France falling quickly. Had France not fallen, there would have been a very real risk of the Western Front in WWII descending into WWI-style trench warfare, with many more French casualties.
In WWI, France lost a lot more of its young men relative to WWII, and thus probably lost many more of its future male SCs prematurely.
Interesting that 8 out of the oldest 11 French men ever reached SC status over the last ten years:
https://gerontology.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_oldest_men_from_France
Specifically Georges Thomas (1911-2024), Jules Theobald (1909-2021), Marcel Meys (1909-2021), Andre Boite (1910-2022), Andre Ludwig (1912-2024), Roger Auvin (1908-2019), Maurice Le Coutour (1914-present), and Jean-Clementus Amano (1908-2019).
This also applies to 6 out of the 7 oldest French men ever. Specifically Specifically Georges Thomas (1911-2024), Jules Theobald (1909-2021), Marcel Meys (1909-2021), Andre Boite (1910-2022), Andre Ludwig (1912-2024), and Roger Auvin (1908-2019).
Rene Benoist de Saint-Ange turns 110 today. I'm looking for some confirmation about him still being alive.

Here's an article about him from when he turned 100:
I wonder how he looks like right now.
@billy-robinson Sometimes with French SCs, the best we may do is that there is no death registration within the next 3 weeks.

Off-topic, but it's interesting that his wife also lived to age 100:

His 100th birthday article from 2015 linked to above also mentions this fact.

For the first time since 14 May 2024 we have 2 110+ here
On the other hand it is the first time that we have someone only 106 years old here
Bayol entered the list on 20 Sept 2024
Lot leaves the list, after having entered with Bayol
Puy-de-Dôme makes its debut here
Hopefully in slightly over a month, Maurice Le Coutour will become the second French man named Maurice, and the first one in almost 20 years, to reach age 111+! 🙂 After Maurice Noel Floquet (1894-2006).
