Today I have talked with the family of Mr. Giuseppe Neri (b. on 5 January 1917 in Ribera, Agrigento, Sicily Region): Mr. Neri have lived in Ribera for about 10 months due to health problems. He will never return to France because of his health.

He has been the Doyen of Sicily since February 2025.

Lists updated from February 2025.

Don Guido Avi is one of my absolute favorits. He is living in Trentino. A region I like a lot. The people and the mountains are great there...

At 108 years old, Don Guido lives alone and walks without a cane. A woman helps him with the housework in the mornings, but after lunch she leaves him, and he spends the afternoon and night alone. Every Sunday he concelebrates Mass and afterwards goes to the headquarters of the association "I Zentili" to have coffee with friends.

As far as I know he was ordained as a Catholic priest in 1942. It is a high risk that he doesn´t use a help for going... Fingers crossed. Tanti auguri, Don Guido<3!

And here are the facts...

https://blogsantostefano.altervista.org/trento-le-106-primavere-di-don-avi-il-decano-dei-preti-trentini/

Don Guido was ordained as priest March 21 1942. Unbelievable. I think this is world record for living Catholic priests. Hochwürden Bruno Kant (born February 26 1916) is older, but ordained in 1950.

@anonymus14 Definitely very impressive! 😲

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."
