LAS now indicates she died on 30 April 2009, aged 111 years and 28 days.

Congratulations to all the LAS team on some wonderful validation work that has been occurring.

Ages from 110 up to about 114.6 and it sounds like there are some high age cases in the pipeline.

New validated supercentenarian (28 July 2022):

Maria Cândida Machado Paes, 25 Oct 1908 - 18 Dec 2018 (aged 110 years, 54 days), of 🇧🇷 Brasil

I just found some information possibly debunking Mr. Lorenzo Cayunao Millan's case. He claims a birth of May 15 1910. But I found sources that say he had an oldest brother who died in may 2011 at the age of 101, also implying a 1910 year of birth. And his youngest sister was alive in December 2012 at age 102, again implying a 1910 year of birth. Now unless they're triplets... they can't all be born in 1910. 

@aquanaut_chalk While it doesn't debunk it, it does cast some doubt about his claim.

@930310 Yes, because he still does not state at least the year of birth, while giving the possibility that he was not born in 1910 (you need to find a potential year of birth)...

Some people have probably noticed how the old LAS website is not available since 4 November. One of the reasons is that we had to move to the new domain (net ---> org). We have set up the lists on the new domain, we even have one new list!

New validated semi-supercentenarian - living (14 October 2022):

Paul Lamaute, (26 March 1914), aged 108, of Haiti/Canada (man)

Awesome to see some Haïtian claims turning out to be true. Congrats to the team involved in the validation! (ESO will probably also validate Mrs Castera's age in the coming weeks.)

Apologies for asking this, but on the pending list for LAS, there are some cases where there is one check and some where there is two checks:

I know what one check vs. two checks means, but because the Documentacion column is no longer split into two sub-columns, one can no longer see whether the check applies to the early-life documentation or to the later-life documentation. The Documentacion column used to be split into two sub-columns but is no longer for whatever reason.

I know about LongevyQuest but I don`t understand unless LQ has absorbed LAS

Yes … LQ and LAS are one these days.

But LAS still had its website in place last time I looked and I think this may be intended to continue.

Worth noting that LAS verifies cases aged 108+ while LQ only verified cases aged 110+ to my knowledge, so there is still value in having LAS independently verify 108-109 year olds even if its 110+ year-olds work will be merged with LQ.

LQ validated the oldest (known) living barber, aged 106, a couple of weeks ago... so they also track people under the age of 110.
