日本国内で男性の最高齢だった112歳の男性が死亡したことを受けて、新たに男性の最高齢は110歳の神奈川県厚木市に住む涌井冨三郎（わくい・とみさぶろう）さんになったことがわかりました。

厚木市によりますと、先月31日に市内に住む涌井冨三郎さんが国内で男性の最高齢になりました。

涌井さんは1913年・大正2年の11月28日生まれで、現在110歳です。

市は「大正、昭和、平成、そして令和と、激動の時代を歩んでこられた涌井様に、心から敬意を表しますとともに、これからも健やかに過ごされますようお祈り申し上げます」とコメントしています。

これまで男性最高齢だった千葉県館山市に住む薗部儀三郎（そのべ・ぎさぶろう）さんが112歳で亡くなったことで、涌井さんが男性の最高齢になりました。

薗部さんが死亡したことで、国内で明治時代に生まれた男性はいなくなりました。

涌井冨三郎さんが生まれた大正2年は7月に現在の宝塚歌劇団である「宝塚唱歌隊」が結成され、11月には徳川最後の将軍徳川慶喜が亡くなっています。"

Mrs. Anna Del Priore - of Middletown, New Jersey, USA - sadly passed away between 29 July 2021 and 25 December 2022, between the age of 108 years, 327 days and 110 years, 111 days. She was born on 5 September 1912, and could have reached supercentenarian status, but she passed away before 2023 (the comment was made one month ago, meaning no later than 25 December 2022).
