I'm not sure where you can see Mrs Burghard was born in Germany? (At least, not in a public source.)

As for nationalities, that's always a tricky one with these supercentenarians born in places where borders have changed. It feels wrong saying Kretschmann and Brosig were born in Poland when, clearly, they are not Polish people (much like saying Juniewicz was Ukrainian when clearly she wasn't), but it does feel wrong saying Hancock was born in Russia (as she's of Swedish descent, not Russian).

Of course, there's more to discuss... what to do with a case like Vita Italia Diliberto, born in what was then a French colony, but herself of Italian descent... definitely not Tunisian.

Ah well - I'm sticking to Germany for both Kretschmann and Brosig just because that's what feels best for me. If anyone has the golden solution, please tell me. 🙂

@marco For me it's fine (less difficult, we can say) to indicate current national borders, not borders from 110 years ago and not ethnicity. I will continue to do in this way but no one has the best solution.
