She basically had a massive stroke and died on the spot, in front of my wife.

We have had 4 dalmation dogs over about 35 years. All have died between the ages of 10.75 and 11.5.

She was 11.25 so we weren’t suprised. She never had any sickness in her life and the stroke lasted less than 30 seconds. So not too bad for her.

-Zuri (female Labrador Retriever, daughter of Luna), born 28 December 2007, died 11 September 2020: 12 years, 258 days

 

Cats:

-Manchas (female stray), born ca. 10 April 2003, died 25 August 2020: 17 years, ca. 137 days

-Cookie (male stray), born ca. 16 June 2005, died 7 May 2019: 13 years, ca. 326 days

-Sacha (male Russian Blue): born 12 March 2007, died 6 November 2023: 16 years, 239 days

 

Our living pets are all still relatively young: we have two dogs, a 5-year-old (born 7 April 2020) female Rough Collie named Poppy and a 4-year-old (born 5 January 2022) male Border Collie named Bam-Bam, and two cats, an 8-year-old (born ca. 26 June 2017) male stray named Ziggy and a 5-year-old (born 18 April 2020) female stray named Kiki (who likely has some Scottish Fold ancestry, because she has those characteristic ears).
