Dear fellow members,
I have decided that I will stop following supercentenarians and thus will be leaving this forum. As I have mentioned before, this hobby has often caused me some stress, knowing that every time I open up this website there is a good chance yet another person I have grown an attachment to has passed away (you probably experience this too). I think the negative aspects of this likely outnumbers the positives for me right now. I don’t see myself doing this for several more years and I do want to enjoy my own life as much as I can. Obviously none of you here and of course none of the elders this forum is dedicated to are at fault here. I will thank you guys and also Tomiko, Inah, Ethel, Maria, Edie, Juan, Fusa, and all the rest.
I will be retiring my Canadian Centenarians list as the top post will become outdated. Also the top post in the “Most Recent Photos of Top OLPs” page too (someone can continue that on their own if they want in another post/thread). The “1900s Compared to 1890s” is made of individual posts so you guys can keep updating that. I will probably be active for another day or so before I post my last message.
Good luck for the future Mr Catlord.
You’ve made some very good contributions on here and I’m sure there would be no problems in you coming back in the future if you ever wanted to.
Good luck with your new interests; if you are taking some other things on.

I know I will greatly miss your posts, having someone focused on living Canadian centenarians was valuable and I always learned something when I read your posts. I am sorry that this hobby causes you stress, and i sympathize with your plight. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors
I'm very sad about your decision, I really like your posts, I know how complicated it is to discover that someone you really sympathize with, even without knowing them personally, has died, but we also experience this when a loved one in the country dies, but I understand your position here, I didn't want you to leave us.
I wish you the best of luck on your new journey, I wish you would come here every now and then at least to say hi.
I am grateful for the messages you have all shared here, and for your activity and interest on the forum. Unfortunately I will now be saying goodbye; I wish you all the best luck. I hope all of our favourite SCs can make it far and live happily and healthily for the remainder of their lives. But unfortunately we lose so many people far too soon. So we can at least cherish them while they live and remember them fondly once they are gone

Dear MrCatlord,
Although it is a real pity to see you go, I'm happy to have come across you at this forum - your posts were always constructive and actually contributed to the field.
I wish I had something clever to say about supercentenarians passing away and about letting them go, but I don't really - I just know that personally I am always aware of the fact that each day is a gift for them (as well as for us) and we should appreciate the (relatively) short time that they are in our limelight. One of the reasons they lived to such a grand old age is because they didn't worry about what they couldn't influence - and their deaths are something we have no control over.
Anyway, I wish you all the best, but obviously I do hope to still see you posting on here every now and then. 😊
Overduidelijk misschien.
