So, would Maria Nicolajsen be the oldest known living person from the Faroe Islands?

Betta Eið (born 4 August 1922) of Hvalba was reported as being the oldest living person in the Faroe Islands on her birthday last year.

As far as I'm aware, Sylvia Berg was last confirmed alive in 2023.

EDIT: Turns out Sylvia Berg died way back on 15 March 2022, according to a family member.

The supposed confirmation at 105 was actually commemorating her.

"I gjar var tu elsta folk i Føroyum Hvuil i frid goda Sylvia Berg" loosely translated, means: "Yesterday, the two oldest people in the Faroe Islands were dead. Rest in peace, good Sylvia Berg."

The Doyenne of Faroe Islands should be Ms. Sylvia Berg (born 16 June 1918, 103).

Ms. Berg currently lives in Peturstrød, Torshavn, Faroe Islands.
She became the oldest living person from the Faroe Islands, following the death of Ms. Kala Jensen (106 y.o.) on 1 February 2022.

At 103: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=406306361082491

The Doyen of Faroe Islands should be an Anonymous man living in Vágur (born July 1918, 103).

Sylvia Berg was born on 16 June 1918. She is most likely the new doyenne.

100th birthday 16 June 2018 (Google translate can't translate this language lol):

"Stuttligt at uppliva, at fleiri og fleiri gerast 100 ár og hava tað gott. Sylvia gramdi seg bara um, at hon hevði so ring knø og tað kundi eg ugga hana við, at eg eisini hevði, hóast tað eru nøkur ár ímillum okkum báðar 🙂
Eitt lítið brot úr røðuni til Sylviu Berg :
" Sylvia, tygum hava verið sera virkin øll árini og eru tað enn. Hóast høga aldurin búgva tygum enn heima og gera døgurða og vaska upp hvønn dag, tað er serstakt og tygum eru ein stór fyrimynd fyri okkum onnur.
Eg havi ómetaliga stóra virðing fyri tí stóra arbeiði, sum tygum og føroyskar møður hava útint, meðan menninir vóru í arbeiði og fingu til føðina. Sagt verður, at arbeiðið hjá einari mammu var ósjónligt, tá tað varð gjørt, meðan øll løgdu til merkis, um mamman ikki gjørdi sítt arbeiði.
Hesi konubrot standa oftast í skugganum av monnunum, og teirra ævisøgur verða sjáldan fortaldar. Men Sylvia, tykkara verk hevur lagt lunnar undir menningina av okkara samfelagi. Og tað vilja vit siga stóra takk fyri.""
