Mrs Klavidya Gadyuchkina recently celebrated her claimed 113th birthday in late November 2022 (see below). The ESO has validated her date of birth as 5 December 1910 (so one year later, and a 13-day difference with the date on her birth registration due to the Old Style calendar still being in use in Russia in 1910).

Happy 112th birthday to her! 🙂

Apparently she's listed by the ESO as being low-level validated, which means that more research on her case needs to be done:

https://europeansupercentenarians.org/supercent.php?countryd=36

It does seem likely that her case is true, though. Just that more documentation is needed for her to be verified at a higher level of confidence.

Article from June about her getting hearing aids

Klavdia Mikhailovna Gadyuchkina is a resident of Yaroslavl, who will turn 114 years old in November. Despite such a respectable age, Klavdia Mikhailovna continues to be keenly interested in everything, remembers all the main events of her long life, and willingly shares stories.

She did not come to the reception alone; the grandmother was supported by her granddaughter, great-granddaughter and great-great-granddaughter. They shared that it has been difficult to communicate with their grandmother lately: one ear cannot hear at all, and there is severe hearing loss in the other.

The center’s specialists did everything to make it comfortable for Klavdia Ivanovna to start using a hearing aid:

  • told how the hearing test will be carried out;

  • they did audiometry - a test that shows how well a person hears sounds of different frequencies and volumes;

  • tried on several hearing aids and helped make a choice;

  • We adjusted the hearing aid and, before purchasing it, gave it to Klavdia Mikhailovna at home so that she could feel how she heard in it in a familiar environment.

Experts gave separate recommendations to Klavdia Mikhailovna’s relatives. They will be useful to anyone who communicates with people who are hard of hearing:

  • you need to stand in front of the person, and not to the side or behind,

  • To talk slowly,

  • Don't speak too loudly, but don't whisper either,

  • pronounce words clearly without swallowing the endings of sentences.

According to Klavdia Mikhailovna’s relatives, she liked the hearing aid and the result that the Rainbow Sound specialists achieved during the adjustment. Now it will be easier for her to communicate with loved ones and journalists who visit her every year to interview her.

@024tomi To be fair, I believe she is still listed as "low-level validated" and that validation is not recognized by any other organizations.

@024tomi Yes I know, but this publication is from 2022, I thought that now in 2024 there was some progress with this case.

It may possibly be a little more difficult validating a case from this part of the world, but of course Ms Gadyuchkina is just outside the top 15 now - so the case is becoming quite a significant one.

The final missing piece of documentation is available, but not for free - and in current times we do not wish to financially support the Russian state.

Yeah, a real shame, isn't it? When geopolitical aggression interferes in the war of valuable work like SC validation. 🙁

Question: After the end of the Russo-Ukrainian War, would it be possible to validate her? Or would it still be inadvisable to financially support the Russian state even after the end of this war due to its occupation of Ukrainian territory?

Ok, what's going on. Is this just another troll or is there some evidence suggesting a 1921 birthdate. I don't know what to believe nowadays.

On 26th April 2025, following the sad passing of Ms. Hayashi, Ms. Gadyuchkina became the World's 8th-oldest validated living person.

On 30th April 2025, following the sad passing of Inah Canabarro Lucas, Ms. Gadyuchkina became the World's 7th-oldest validated living person.

Good to see an (apparent) recent picture of Mrs Gadyuchkina.

She appears in reasonable shape for someone believed to be approaching 115.

Klavdiya Gadyuchkina, Russia’s Oldest Person Ever, Validated at 114

LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the validation of Klavdiya Gadyuchkina as the oldest known person ever to have lived in Russia. A resident of Yaroslavl, she is 114 years and 315 days old as of today, making her the fifth-oldest living person in the world.

Klavdiya Mikhailovna Gadyuchkina (Клавдия Михайловна Гадючкина) was born in the village of Norskoye on the northwestern outskirts of the city of Yaroslavl, Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia (then Russian Empire). She claims to have been born on 24 November 1909; however, according to the research conducted by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and LongeviQuest, her actual birthdate is 5 December 1910. When she was nine years old, her mother died of cancer. Her father, a carpenter, had to work a lot to afford both bread and hay for their cow. She had to leave school in the 3rd grade.

At the age of 15, she found a job at the local spinning factory “Red Pass”, dedicating her entire career to the establishment. She advanced from auxiliary worker to spinner and assistant foreman, eventually becoming a production leader, earning a gramophone as a reward for her achievements.

She married Sergey Petrovich, and the couple went on to have five children. Her eldest son was born at the beginning of World War II, and the youngest in 1945. Her daughter Rita was 11 years old at the beginning of the war. Before her husband left for the front, he instructed her to exchange any items they possessed for food if necessary. Her husband died in 1956, due to an injury received at the factory. She retired after 52 years of work in the factory.

Klavdiya Gadyuchkina was hospitalized.

Yaroslavl's 116-year-old centenarian, Klavdiya Gadyuchkina, was hospitalized, according to her granddaughter, Olga, with whom she has been living in recent years.

According to Klavdiya Gadyuchkina's family, she was born on November 24, 1909. She will turn 116 in 2025. However, according to the international organization LongeviQuest, the oldest Yaroslavl resident's actual birthdate is December 5, 1910. This means she won't turn 115 until early winter 2025.
"Grandma has become ill and is in the hospital. Unfortunately, she can't wait for her birthday! There's no diagnosis yet. She needs an ultrasound and some tests," a relative of the centenarian said in an interview.
In 2025, Klavdiya Gadyuchkina was ranked among the top 5 oldest people on Earth by the international organization LongeviQuest. The Yaroslavl resident is considered the oldest person in Russia.

LongeviQuest is an international organization dedicated to longevity research and age verification for people over 110. The organization maintains the world's largest database of centenarians, verifies age verification documents, and sets international standards in this field through its own global age validation commission.

The Life Story of a Centenarian
Klavdiya Gadyuchkina was born in the village of Norskoye on the outskirts of Yaroslavl. In third grade, she dropped out of school to help support her family after the death of her mother. At 15, she found work at the Krasny Pereval factory. The work was physically demanding. The Yaroslavl resident recalls those years as the most difficult and exhausting period of her life.

Klavdiya Gadyuchkina previously noted her large and close-knit family as one of her life's greatest achievements. The centenarian has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She has seen four generations in her lifetime.
