Ada Avila was born in Portoviejo, Manabi Province, Ecuador, on 14 January 1910. 
She emigrated to the United States in 1955, settling in New York. She later moved to Deltona, Florida, where she currently resides.
As of May 10, 2023, she is currently the oldest validated living person born in Ecuador. Ms. Avila became the oldest known living person in Florida after Ms. Harris died, likely on 3 May 2021. She later became the oldest known living Ecuadorian-born person after the death of 113-year-old Ms. Velez Bravo on 12 October 2021.
Ms. Avila is currently the sixth-oldest validated living person in the United States [after Ms. Ceccarelli (115.2), Ms. Plummer (114.9), Ms. Willis (114.3), Ms. Francis (113.8) and Ms. Berg (113.5)], the second-oldest validated living emigrant in the world (after Ms. Branyas Morera) and the third-oldest validated Ecuadorian-born person ever (after Ms. Capovilla and Ms. Velez Bravo).

I discovered that the day before her death, Ada’s family posted a screenshot of the list of oldest people in the US. Obviously she had fallen ill and they knew she would die.Kinda reminds me of those clickbait celebrity death videos like “so-and-so posted shocking message before death”. The most ironic part is that Velma Hinds had already died at this time
