From Livinnho:

Mrs. Nellie Hernández of California, USA, sadly passed away on 19 February 2026, aged 110 years and 55 days. She was born on 26 December 1915 in Wilmington, California, to Andrew Ruiz (1890-1978) and Candelaria Benavidez (1894-1956), Mexican immigrants.

She had 9 siblings: Simona (1914-2005), Jesus and Zrenia (1918-1918), Andrew (1919-1986), Amanda (1923-2012), William (1925-2010), Candelaria (1926-2022), Irene (1931-deceased) and Elizabeth (1937).

She married Edward Cruz (1909-1998) on 5 July 1934 in Los Angeles and they had 3 children together: Edmund James, Caroline Jean and Betty Lorraine. After they divorced, she married Joseph Perez Hernández (1921-2004) with whom she also had 3 children: Kathryn Joanne, Cynthia Antoinette and Rhonda Marie.

Nellie Hernandez said that sleeping well, dancing, and being positive, in addition to eating chili peppers, are essential in life.
She said the secret to longevity is dancing and being positive. She always loved to dance; her husband was a musician in a swing band.

For many years, Nellie worked at UCLA Hospital until she retired at the age of 70. However, she always remained active.

She never let things get her down and had a solution for everything. She said she was happy about everything and that God helped her with her problems.

So I guess this was the Anonymous 110-year-old woman of California. LQ removed that page but I don't know why they can't even confirm the deathdate, considering they confirmed the deathdate of the Anonymous woman from Jersey (6 July 1914 - 18 April 2925) seemingly just from Livinho's post https://longeviquest.com/supercentenarian/nellie-hernandez/

R.I.P. Ms. Hernández.

When the young commander of the guard declared his love for her, she rejected him simply because his frivolity startled her. "See how simple he is," she told Amaranta. "He says that he’s dying because of me, as if I were a bad case of colic."

It seems that she is still alive. Sorry for the misunderstanding; her granddaughter's post misled us.
