The Guinness World Records has updated their website and the page for the "Oldest person living (male)" title.
Though they did make some serious mistakes, they did list Mr. Pérez Mora as the current titleholder. I believe we can expect the new photos soon.

"Who

When
07 MAY 2019

The oldest person living (male) is Juan Vicente Mora (Venezuela, b. 27 May 1909) who is 112 years and 253 days old, as verified in San Jose de Bolivar, Venezuela, on 04 February 2022.

Juan Vicente Mora was born at 12 noon, in the town of El Cobre. In 1913, he arrived in the village of Los Paujiles, where alongside his family members he started working in agriculture.

In 1938, at the age of 28, he married Ediofina del Rosario García Carrero (born 1916). The couple had 11 children; the first one being José Juan, who was born in Los Paujiles when Juan Vicente was 30 years old.

At the age of 31, he moved from his farm and house in Los Paujiles. He worked with sugar cane and coffee, and had a stone mill that his brother Miguel had previously built for him. After some time the two brothers went to Tariba and each bought a mechanical mill powered by oxen.

In the 1950s, he worked on the construction of the road from Queniquea to San José de Bolívar. Since there was no machinery, all the work was done with a pick and shovel. He earned 2 bolívares per day, but if he didn’t manage to do everything requested in one day, he was not paid until the next day.

When he was 50, alongside his brothers he would attend parties at their sister’s house in Queniquea. In 1962, he sold his farm in Caricuena and bought the land and a house in San José de Bolívar.

As of 2022, Juan Vicente had 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren."

The Guinness World Records has updated their website and the page for the "Oldest person living (male)" title.
Though they did make some serious mistakes, they did list Mr. Pérez Mora as the current titleholder. I believe we can expect the new photos soon.

Congratulations!

As someone who doesn't know that much about him, what were the serious mistakes?

It's not about his biography, the biography is fine - after all we translated his biography from Spanish to English for his validation report.

The major mistake is that his name is listed as "Juan Vicente Mora", while his name is "Juan Vicente Perez Mora". It would have been fine if they used only the first surname, but it's a big mistake like this. I only hope they did not make the same mistake on his certificate... The other mistake is "When: 07 MAY 2019"

He's been validated by LAS for over a year now (his birth and baptismal records were found before his 110th birthday, I believe), and GWR based their recognition off of this prior research.

Here's a new photo:

Someone from the GWR probably leaked it a bit early, so I guess we will wait for an official report a bit more.

@seto2001 This was not an intentional leak but a technical issue.
