The attached was issued early this morning (NZ time) on 12 September to mark the 111th birthday of Aileen Kars.
We hope a follow up will occur in the coming hours, in respect of the afternoon tea planned.
On final confirmation Ms Kars would be the third (reliably validated) New Zealand supercentenarian to reach 111 after Florence Finch and Madeleine Anderson.
She remains the oldest person in Australasia.
