Trixie Evelyn Hynes - of Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada - sadly passed away on on 14 July 2023, two days after her 108th birthday. She was born on 12 July 1915 on Sandy Point, a small peninsula (more recently, island) in St. George's Bay which is now uninhabitable due to coastal erosion. She was possibly the oldest living person on the island of Newfoundland.
