Mr. Salvatore (called Vincenzo) Nardi of Simbario, Vibo Valentia, Calabria Region, Italy, sadly passed away few minutes ago, aged 111 years and 19 days.

He was born in the same village on 14 October 1912.

He was the 7th Oldest Validated Living Man in the World, 12th OLP in Italy, the Vice-Doyen of Italy and the Oldest Man Ever lived in Calabria Region.

(his family informed me few minutes ago).

Sig. Nardi may rest in eternal peace! 

I was pleased that he could celebrate his 111th birthday a few days ago and hoped more to come.

A big loss for Italy. We lost him on the day of " Commemorazione dei defunti" (All Soul´s Day), a day of prayer and remembrance for the faithful departed.

PS Ale, are you allowed to share his cause of death with us?

There is a photo of him standing at 110 with a saxophone

Does anyone know if he was a musician during his life and if he also played the saxophone as a (super)centenarian?
