The doyen of France passed away on 7 January, after 111 years and 215 days spent on Earth.
André Ludwig was born in La Ferté-sous-Jouarre, Seine-et-Marne, France, on 6 June 1912, and lived in Longué-Jumelles, Maine-et-Loire, France, since 1972.
At the time of his death, he was the 5th oldest known french man ever, 4th oldest living in the world.
The new doyen of France is now unknown. Oldest publicly known (probably not actual) is Maurice Le Coutour, born 12 May 1914.
Oh no! May he rest in peace.
Overduidelijk misschien.
RIP Mr. Ludwig

Very sad, such a big loss for great recordholder. He is older than the well-known genius Alan Turing (1912-1954), born in the same year as Titanic sunk, and on his 32nd birthday, the Allied forces conducted D-Day in France.
