I regret to inform that LongeviQuest has reported the passing of Mr. Efrain Antonio Rios Garcia, the world's second-oldest man, passed away at 5:30 PM on 11 January 2024, at the grand age of 113 years and 282 days. He was the fourteenth-oldest validated person in the world at the time of his death, along with being the last man born in 1910, the all-time Colombian male longevity recordholder, and only a week ago he became the tenth oldest validated man of all time

Rest in peace Efraín Antonio Ríos García.
113 years and 282 days is an incredible age for a man.
It was incredible to have 3 validated men over 113 years old at the same time, I think the men's streak is ending.
Now the second validated living man is "only" 112 years and 2 months old.
Kane Tanaka (1903-2022) my favorite supercentenarian of all time.

RIP Efraín Antonio Ríos García (1910-2024), one of the most underrated male supercentenarian ever. Even though living to be 113 years and 282 days old, not only he has never been a WOM, but also he has never been the oldest validated living man in his continent, South America.

RIP Efraín Antonio Ríos García (1910-2024), one of the most underrated male supercentenarian ever. Even though living to be 113 years and 282 days old, not only he has never been a WOM, but also he has never been the oldest validated living man in his continent, South America.
And he didn't even become the oldest man in his country until he was around 113 years and 100 days. I think in terms of Colombian male longevity, Efrain and Eusebio were more of outliers than Kane and Lucile

Mr. Ríos García is the oldest man to have never obtained the title of Doyen of the Humanity (having surpassed the final age of John Ingram McMorran).
