Ms. Sumiko Taki (滝 壽美子) of Kōnan City, Aichi Prefecture who was oldest living person in the Prefecture has sadly passed away February 22, 2026 at the age of 111 years, 83 days.
She was born in Inaba District, present-day part of Kakamigahara City, Gifu Prefecture, on December 1, 1914. On May 20, 2025, following the passing of Ms. Mine Kondō of Kōta Town at age 114, Ms. Taki became the oldest known living person in Aichi Prefecture.
According to Aichi Prefecture, following Ms. Taki's death, the new oldest living person in the prefecture is 111-years-old an anonymous woman of Nagoya City.
