The last mayor of Kaitsuka City, Osaka is a Isamu Yoshimichi (吉道勇) sadly passed away on December 15, 2024 at the age of 97 years old.

He was born on February 4, 1927. 

He is known for serving as the mayor of Kaitsuka City for 10 consecutive terms (40 years; from February 1970 to February 2010), a record that no other Japanese mayor has yet managed to beat.

吉道　勇さん（よしみち・いさむ＝元大阪府貝塚市長）１５日、老衰のため自宅で死去、９７歳。貝塚市出身。葬儀・告別式は１８日午前１１時半から貝塚市石才１２４の１、シティホール貝塚で。喪主は長男保喜（やすき）さん。 貝塚市議などを経て、70年に貝塚市長に初当選。10年まで10期40年務め、任期満了で引退した。
