It's interesting to note how similar the stats are between the last survivors of the 1890s and 1900s. On May 20, 2013 there were 12 people left born in the 1800s, which can be compared to the 16 that currently remain from the 1900s. There’s potentially some unknown survivor from the 1900s still out there as well. This is still lower than would be expected since the number of living supercentenarians has about doubled since then.

On May 20, 2013 there were 12 people left born in the 1800s, which can be compared to the 16 that currently remain from the 1900s. There’s potentially some unknown survivor from the 1900s still out there as well. This is still lower than would be expected since the number of living supercentenarians has about doubled since then.

Yes, but last times have been quite hard for "top" supercentenarians, as 1-2 years ago the situation was way better (constantly 10+ people aged 114 or more). I hope and think that's a luckless contingency.
